In preparation for the upcoming 2022 Election, MSU College of Law’s Sarimanok Virtual Law Clinic (SVLC) attended the “Online Election Forum and Chapter formation” conducted by the Legal Network for Truthful Elections (LENTE) last December 21, 2021. The event was participated by all the SVLC members and supervising lawyers.
LENTE is an advocate for electoral reforms conducting public education activities to strengthen the institutional ties of various election-related organizations against violators of elections laws. They promote electoral literacy for a just election and well-informed voting body. SVLC was tapped by LENTE to become its partner and a non-partisan paralegal in the conduct of the upcoming election.
In the forum, LENTE tackled basic election laws and rules, election violations such as vote buying, misconceptions surrounding elections, and common mistakes committed by voters. The partnership formation, roles, and future activities were also discussed by the parties. SVLC looks forward to this collaboration with LENTE to keep a watchful eye against election violators and effect a clean, orderly, and fair election.
